ANOTHER ONE FOUND

The Agent got some photos of one of the more
famous and successful rear-engined floppers
of our time, although it could be extremely
ill-handling at times.  The "Big Jim"
Dunn-driven Barracuda had the driver's
nose right up against the windshield.
You may remember Dunn
and his rear-engine
Cuda as it was
seen in the 1972
motion picture Funny
Car Summer. More
details as we get them.

ARE THEY READING BURK’S BLAST? NO WAY, DUDE!

The Agent had a couple of his operatives hanging out in Houston. They called in to report that several teams informed them that NHRA’s nitro ranger Ray Alley and a couple of his men told the teams that NHRA track prep was going to reduce the amount of VHT they were using, in an effort to lessen traction and reduce the amount of tire “chunking” that continues to plague the fuel cars. The Agent has confirmed that some of the alcohol racers are starting to have tire chunking problems as well, which may have had something to do with making the track surface less sticky. [4-4-2006]

MSD’S JEFF GAUL PASSES AWAY

Jeff Gaul passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2006. He started at MSD Ignition in El Paso, TX, in 1980 when he was 19 years old. From working on the line, to customer service, being creative with graphics, working at the races and in the pits, in the water with jet skis and marine, and on to become the Vice President of New Product Development, Jeff Gaul was an integral part of MSD's success. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. [4-4-2006]
