Brothers Zach and Cody Barklage were pretty much in a class by themselves as the Super Chevy Show visited legendary Route 66 Raceway in an event presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Zach, who hails from Lake Ozark, Missouri, qualified number one, setting a new Super Chevy Show season high ET mark of 6.138 seconds in the process.  Later on, he broke the season speed record with a blast of 228.65 miles per hour in his '57 Chevy Nitro Coupe.  Zach ran his brother Cody in the finals and dispatched him with a 6.154 a7 228.23.

Former Nitro Coupe World Champion Randy Adler, racing at his home track, took a run at derailing the Barklage express before falling to Zach's brother Cody in the semi-finals in a

run that had both Nitro Coupes stop the clocks at 6.296 seconds. Adler's round one win and a round one loss by Tony "Sandman" Williams put the two in a tie for the Mickey Thompson Nitro Coupe world championship chase.

The Chicago Super Stock Outlaws were on their home turf, and turned in a great show with Joe Stiles of Plainfield, IL pushing his 1971 Z-28 to a win over Frank Podlogar of Downers Grove, IL.

John Savarino of Ashkum, IL had a good weekend in his Spitzer rear-engine dragster, winning both the Mr. Gasket Bracket One and the Saturday TREMEC Transmission Bonus Race.  (Complete bracket race results below)

The Super Chevy Show heads into the last five events of its 2006 tour with a visit to Thunder Mountain and Bandimere Speedway August 18-20.
