This is how Rex Kelley’s event began…and it only got worse. Just when the Alabamian seemed to have solved most of his problems at the end of 2006, the new season presented a fiery debut for the southlander.

With sixty-six entries and far more fans than the Houston Motorsports Park staff anticipated, the delayed start to the Flowmaster ADRL 2007 series was a success from all political, attendance and performance perspectives. From the ADRL’s ability to complete two rounds of qualifying and four rounds of eliminations for three categories in ten hours to HMP’s incomparable two-pound “Sausage On A Stick“, spectators saw it all courtesy of a magnificently maintained racing surface and exceptional weather.

While the Pro Nitrous contingent’s 4.14-second bump spot missed Dragstock III’s record 4.08 bubble, the supercharged Pro Xtreme attendees presented fifteen cars and no less than THIRTY-NINE passes under four seconds flat during the two-day battle. The debut of the ADRL’s unrestricted Xtreme 10.5 division resulted in the obliteration of all elapsed time records for 10.5 tire-equipped vehicles. With representatives from new partner AlphaTrade.com offering purse incentives, the third annual RacingJunk.com Dragpalooza event gave sufficient notice that the ADRL will again host some of the sport’s greatest events in 2007.

Here, then, is “the rest of the story”.
