The March Meet swap area is always has an eclectic collection of rides, parts, magazines, shirts and junk.  On display and clearly not for sale was this uncompleted Mike Mitchell 70’s Barracuda flopper called the “Spirit of Achievement” that according to the current owner was never raced.  He found the body in a northern California swap meet and his plans are to finish the historic ride and bring it into competition someday.

A festive weekend and a fun tailgate party is usually in progress for most of the March Meet, a vintage Ford station wagon makes for the perfect bar with a gas-powered blender.

Even a camera crew from “American Dragster” made the trek to Famoso to follow the action.  They interviewed Lindsey Godfrey on the crew of the Capps-driven flopper.

If the 2007 version of the March Meet is any indication of success you’d better start getting your hotel reservations booked for the 50th March Meet early next year.  You won’t want to miss it!
