FIA Top Methanol Dragster

Whilst Dave Wilson stormed to his customary spot at the top of the TMD pile with a 5.43 it was German Timo Habermann with the most to smile about, as the only racer in the class to record five second timeslips in both sessions and dropping his PB considerably to a 5.820 from the Fontana powered entry.

Another making progress is Brit Derek Flynn in his immaculate Gold RV digger. After a frustrating debut for the newly imported rat motored car, a step-up from his previous mid six second d-y-o bracket rail, the Main Event suggested that the team are heading on the right track. Whilst these are early days, Flynn is not lacking in determination and have a new motor on it’s way for later in the season which should propel him well below his current best marks.

Returning to TMFC after an abbreviated tryout a few seasons ago, Pro Mod standout Freddy Fagerstrom built on the promise shown in his debut in the ex-Erbacher Firebird at Easter with the only five second clocking from the class in the abbreviated qualifying. With support of the rest of Circus Fagerstrom and the right tools to hand Fast Freddy might take some knocking off the top of the early season points tree.

A tip of the hat to the She Devil team of Steph and Dave Milam for simply getting the Avenger back on track so soon after demolishing the motor on a PB run at Easter. That they were at the Main Event at all is impressive enough, that they were within spitting distance of that PB is a statement of the effort that the husband and wife team put into running their car on an almost non-existant budget.
