After several more incidents typical of Fuel Altereds at sometime around 2:30 AM The First Final of the night for the NHRA National Dragster Challenge was ran between driver James Generaloa Jr. in his Family’s Impatient 23 T tuned by his Dad James Sr.  going up against Mike Hilsabeck’s Arizona Thunder  Hilsabeck who defeated James at Tucson SIR AA/FA Nats this year couldn’t make it two in a row over his rival  as James jr. drove away from the Arizona Thunder car at the hit of the throttle as Mike had  handling trouble and lifted.

In other transformer elimination action Ricky Ruiz and Greg Daebilliehn ran each other for the third place cash. Ruiz had a big load in the tank but after launching headed for the Famosa guard wall impacting it at about 200 and leaving a rubber streak to almost half track before lifting. In the other lane Daebilliehn shut off early, coastedthru for the lights but still got the win light and third place money!

In the bracket action Mike Andrada of Kingsburg California drove his alky injected 1970 Dodge Dart  to his 2nd win in row at the Chuy’s, Budweiser and Holders Heating and Air NHRA National Dragster Challenge,  Chuy’s AA/FA Nationals, mike who won a NHRA Wally at this race last year in Non Electric  no box he beat out 99 others who wanted the Wally and in the final he defeated another great racer who has won his share of NHRA Wallys  from  jr. dragsters to super comp and former NHRA Div 7 Champion Kyle Rizzoli in his family’s 68 Chevy Camaro  A/SA NHRA Stocker, both Kyle and Mike both broke out. Mike Andrada  in his Mopar ran a 10.16 e.t. 130.90 mph on a 10.17 dial to Rizzoli who went further under running a 11.637 e.t. on a 11.65 dial at 112.58 mph. Rizzoli would also be number one Qualifier in no box!
In electronic or Box bracket for the NHRA National Dragster Challenge Wally it came down to Jarod Leigton in the Desert Express 1994 dragster from Rocklin Ca.  All Jarod had to do to get the win was stage his dragster and break the beams as his oppenant Dustin Harris from Bakersfield Ca. had to withdraw his car in the final as the oil pan on his BBC  93 Victory dragster had a crack in his oil pan! The Leigton team took home the NHRA Wally along with a quarter final finish for his sister Katie!
