In Top Alky action Lynch took his usual seat in the Top Alcohol category, progressing to the semi-finals before being defeated by top qualifier Gary Phillips. Phillips, who hails from Queensland, lined up against New South Wales’ Wayne Newby (above) in the finals with Newby taking the win when Phillips digger went into tyre shake. Despite being eliminated in the semis Brett Stevens maintained his championship lead over Aaron Lynch in the category.

“We had a lot of luck this weekend - we were confident lining up against Phillips but before that we were lucky with Ben Bray red-lighting (jumping the start)," said winner Newby. "Then we had to change the motor for the final when we broke a rear main bearing in the run with Brett Stevens – so to take the win was a great feeling after a busy weekend for all the boys.”

In the Pro Stock Bike Queensland’s Peter Cochrane (above) staged up against South Australia’s Jason Lee in the finals. Points leader Callam Godeassi was eliminated early with problems on the start-line, Cochrane was keen to make up championship points on the Victorian after heading to Willowbank 15 points behind the Victorian, he did just that by taking the win and now leads the championship and is now 55 points ahead of Godeassi.

Victories in the other categories went to Paul Cannuli (Supercharged Outlaws), Darren Doeblien (Super Street), Tony Whyatt (Super Sedan), Athol Jacobsen (Modified), Blaze Hansen (Junior Dragster), Jason Hammelswang (Modified Bike), Shane Moran (Super Gas), Dennis Byth (Competition), Peter Everett (Competition Bike) and Louis Galea (Super Stock).
