Our victim. Beautiful, isn’t she?

Of such things are dreams of speed made.

When you’ve got a nice car, what’s the first thing you want to do? If you’re like us, the answer is to see how fast it’ll go. But what if you want it to go faster? That’s where the fun starts. One popular for the Mustang 5.0 crowd is installing a belt driven ProCharger Centrifugal Supercharger in your new baby. Ours was a Stage Two with a three row intercooler, which retails for about $5,400. I hope you’re taking notes, because there will be a test on this later. If you’ve ever wondered how much time and effort is required to install one of these (And believe us, so have we. When the opportunity presented itself we got together with St. Louis’s legendary Matt Johnson owner of Matt Johnson Performance, ProCharger, and one of Matt’s customers David Holiday, we jumped at it!) then just keep going, gentle reader, because that’s what we’re here for.

The theatre for this particular operation was Matt Johnson’s Performance Shop in, ahem, scenic Overland. The mad surgeon doing the grunt work was none other then Tom Heaney.

First things first. We began, naturally enough, by opening up the box of supercharger kickass to make sure everything was there. Nothing worse then getting halfway through a project and finding that you’re missing Flange A that needs to go in Tab Z to connect Slot 3 to Table Ω. Fortunately, everything was there, including a nice custom license plate frame. Driver, and everyone else, beware.
