No, it’s not the shape of things to come, but heightened security is now a fact of life in the NHRA nitro pits However, these County Sheriffs were just making the rounds saying hello to their gearhead friends at the Fairplex. A mandatory Thursday morning “Nitro Handling” meeting for all race teams is being held at a nearby hotel and will cover increased security requirements for the handling and storage of our precious CH3NO2 nectar.  (Darr Hawthorne photo)
