he Finals at Pomona marked the end of the 2008 NHRA drag racing season and since it is the last race of the season we thought that instead of our usual photos and quotes we would do something a little different and use the photos from DRO contributing photo-journalists who were at the event to tell the tale of the final race of the NHRA POWERade era.
The event was held with a backdrop of a wild fire burning through Southern California.

TOP FUEL
Supposedly the Finals will be the last race for one of the all-time greats Tim Richards and his wife Kim (daughter of Dick LaHaie). We say both should immediately be installed in Drag Racing’s Hall of Fame.
This shot of the Lucas Top Fuel team side-by-side may be the last time we see this as the team is rumored to have new sponsors and maybe one new driver in 2009!
