Former AHRA champion Randy Hagerty brought out his new Corvette and qualified No. 3 with a 6.559/214.78. Unfortunately, he had a nitrous backfire and was out in the first round.

Randy Walker’s mountain motored, NOS-squeezed purple El Camino crashed into two walls down past the finish line. The El Camino will need front half job.

The on-track action was marred when David Edgar and his Mopar Jeep crashed on Saturday afternoon. He was taken to Arrowhead Regional Hospital with head injuries.

Ron Weems (far lane) got the Outlaw Street win. Here he gets the second round win against Chris Kephart’s ’62 bubble top, 7.639/192.36 to Kephart’s 7.666/190.65. Weems got a bye in the semis and got the win when number one qualifier Rich Zehring had engine failure in the final round.

Bill Dunaway had the best wheelstand of the meet. He was runner up to Mike Schmidt (8.002/174.89) in Extreeme Drag Radial.
