Scott Parks (right lane) got this Jr. A Fuel semi-final win against Dean Carter. Parks, from Burlingame, Kansas, took his Neil & Parks dragster to the win when final round opponent J.D. Zink broke before he could get the car staged. Parks set Low E.T. and Top Speed at 6.835 and 195.34 mph.  Carter picked up the Jr. B Fuel win over Fred Notkza. (James Drew photo)

Steve Woods got a bye into the semis of AA/Gas, where he defeated John Peterson to meet Sean Renteria in the final round. Although Renteria left first, the ’63 Corvette of Woods got to the finish line first with a 6.724/204.85. Renteria’s ’65 Valiant had set Top Speed at 208.84 but only managed a 6.904/192.77 in the final after problems on the top end. Renteria previously ran A/Gas for many years.  (Tim Marshall photo)

There were twenty-eight vehicles qualified for the Nostalgia 1 Eliminator. Dave Ward’s ’48 Fiat Toppolino got the win when Jim Scott’s dragster left too early. (James Drew photo)
