The gorgeous GT 500 Mustang of Scott Porter had a solid race making it all the way to the semi-finals where he met Aaron Tremayne. His 7.20, however, had no answer for the Cobalt racer’s 7.13 winning pass.

In the semis Tremayne was up against the GT 500 Mustang of Scott Porter but Tremayne is a class act with his better reacting 7.13/189.31 more than enough for the Ford’s 7.20. Baktash then met John Barbagello in a Ford Escort with the result the same – an all the way win thanks to a 7.169/190.27 holding off a 7.207 at 190.19. Barbagello’s loss also meant that Aaron had won the 2008 Australian Pro Stock title and was now racing for a win to add the icing on the cake.

It doesn’t get much better than this – Pro Stock driver Aaron Tremayne’s weekend saw him top qualify, win the event and take the Australian title in his Chevy Colbalt.

The final between Lee Baktash’s Dodge Avenger (in the far lane) and Tyronne Tremayne is pretty much over at this point as Baktash snoozed on the lights and then had a 7.33 fall short of his opponent’s winning 7.12.

While Baktash had made huge strides with his Avenger, Tremayne had achieved the most points in three of the previous four events. It wasn’t to be any different in the final around as he had Bektash on toast off the line and just extended his lead to win 7.16 to 7.33. After the win Tremayne was ecstatic. “My team has been just outstanding all weekend,” he stated. “The car has been great of course and I’ve won the championship – I couldn’t be more happy,” he added.
