Former ADRL Pro Nitrous world champion Keith Baker put his Circle City Transport Corvette fourth on the pre-race list, but drove it all the way to the $5K SOT Outlaw Pro Nitrous win at Montgomery.
Eighteen-year-old Jamie Hancock, the reigning ADRL Pro Nitrous champ, stole the number-one start away in the last session from fellow ADRL regular Stan Allen with a 4.13-second blast at 172.05 mph in his ’04 Corvette. Hancock got by Rex Kelley in the first round of racing, but lost a close race to Baker in the semis.
Stan Allen of New Iberia, LA, looked good in his Michael Bankston-owned ’68 Camaro in qualifying with a second-place 4.184, but traction trouble bit him in the opening round on Sunday against Ronnie Davis.
