Like many others in OAS competition, Laurence Bass is a veteran of GIR’s weekly heads-up D.O.T. tire program. The 2004 champ of that series, Bass campaigns a Vortech-supercharged smallblock Mustang with eight-second horsepower. Despite a thundering burnout, however, Laurence got a close look at the wall in Super Street’s first round against eventual runner-up Neil Tobnick.

The epitome of balance, Mike Wagner qualified his QuickTime Syndicate Kawasaki in the Outlaw Motorcycle field at 7.92/164 but lost a first round battle with Dave Heimbach, 7.72/160 to 7.91/164. Despair quickly turned to glee, however, when Mike’s daughter, Heather, went to her first final round in the same division!
