Shawn Bowen made a big move towards contending for the DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC Challenge championship by winning the most prestigious race on the six-event schedule, the 56th annual World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova Dragway Park. Bowen defeated current points leader Paul Romine in a dramatic late night AA/FC finale in front of a huge crowd. 

With two major AA/FC events going on the same weekend there was some doubt as to the quality and number of Nostalgia AA/FC’s that would attend, but those concerns proved unfounded as eight of the Midwest’s best came for the prestige of winning and Shawn Bowin and his hard working crew became the winners of the first ever  in World Series of Drag Racing history eight-car qualified Nitro Funny Car field.
