Bob Tasca raced to his second Funny Car victory of the season Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Toyo Tire NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway near Reading, Pa.

Larry Dixon, Jeg Coughlin and Eddie Krawiec also were winners at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event. Only one race remains in the NHRA regular season before the six-race playoffs – the Countdown to 1 – begins Sept. 18 at zMAX Dragway near Charlotte, N.C.

FUNNY CAR

Tasca earned his second win of the season and his career in his Motorcraft Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang with a 4.239 second run at 292.71 mph to hold off challenger Mike Neff in the final, whose Ford Drive One Mustang finished just .008 slower with a 4.247 at 264.13.

Tasca also beat John Force, Robert Hight and Ron Capps on his path to the final round.
