Dan Fletcher, Stock Eliminator winner

Thomas Fletcher facing off against Fred Gallo

Dan Fletcher scored an emotional win in Comp Eliminator, joining his son Thomas in the winner’s circle as Thomas grabbed his first ever national event win over Kevin Fogerty in Stock Eliminator. This was Dan’s 63rd national event win, as the pair became just the third father and son to win at the same national event. Dan drove to victory over Charlie Greco with an 8.612 on an 8.54 index as Greco left early taking the red light foul start. Thomas ran a 10.308 on a 10.29 dial-in against Fogerty’s 11.088/11.08, ultimately taking the win by less than three feet.

Super Stock runner-up Ralph Porpora

Mespeth, New York’s Donald Sabin took his first Super Stock win over Ralph Porpora, from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with an ET of 13.078 on a 9.66 dial in. Porpora meanwhile ran an impressive 9.231 over a 9.22 dial in. Unfortunately, a .131 red light cost him the race.

In Super Gas Billy Upton, Taylor, S.C., beat out Ricky Hall, Yorktown, Va. Both broke out, but Upton’s smaller margin (9.886/9.90 versus Hall’s 9.878/9.90) gave him the win.
