Scott Griffith and his ’65 Mercury Comet had a .008 RT against Bob Moser’s Ford Fairlane and won easily when Moser had a .281 light. The next round Griffith faced Bill White and his AA/FX ‘64 Chevelle. White had a .008 RT and Griffith a .240 light. White had both the Top Speed and Low ET of eliminations with a 146.81 clocking in a first round win over Mitzi Herzing. White also had the low ET of the meet, tripping the ET beams with 9.156 in his third round red-light loss to Wally Krueger. He wasted a 9.15 dial-in.

The racer with the best “package” was Russ Berens, who had a .006 package against Charlie Kuenster in the second round. He had a .005 light and ran 10.800 on a 10.79 dial.
