Brett Harris is also vying for the California Hot Rod Reunion TF championship. He beat out Rick McGee, Rick Williamson and Rick White. Harris ran a 5.776 elapsed time at 250.20 mph against McGee. Sorokin and Harris will go head-to-head at the finals in November.
In Nostalgia Funny Car, Leah Pruett-LeDuc and Mark Hentges will face off at the NHRA Finals for the California Hot Rod Reunion FC Championship.
Pruett-LeDuc needed only to reach third round to earn the 2010 Hot Rod Heritage Series title. She had 47 points coming into the California Hot Rod Reunion. Pruett-LeDuc nearly missed her glory when she broke a fuel pump on Friday’s first round of qualifying. Her team brought her back as she qualified 11th and ran an ET of 5.887 in the first round. She snatched up a win in the semifinals with an ET of 5.823 at 241.41 against Lavoie’s ET of 6.036 at 202.33.
With the year-end points tallied, LeDuc won her first-ever Nostalgic Funny Car Champion in the 2010 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series.
"I'm extremely pumped. I'm still in awe of the championship. I couldn't ask for anything better," said Pruett-LeDuc.
