After smoking the tyres in the first round of competition at the season opening Nationals, the tune up for the Cowin family top fuel dragster erred on the side of  caution this time around. This saw driver, Andrew Cowin qualify well and then outlast the competition on race day as he revealed to me at the trophy presentations. “The car was great to drive all weekend. We richened it up and took a heap of power out of it and still ran well enough to make it through today. It would have been easy to overpower the track but the end result was a win”, he went on to say. Three good runs, including a semi-final 4.797/318.17 mph that was low ET of eliminations, was the best on the day.
