A cold day dawned on the Lee Sherman Memorial Stock/Super Stock race, run in memory of Lee Sherman, a Maryland area racer who helped found the region's annual November S/SS race, with the weather keeping all but the most stalwart fans away from the track.

Begun in the '80s, this race has been run every year, save 1995, when the entire weekend was rained out, and since 1995, every race has featured at least 24 or more cars. With a spectator count just south of 600, and a low racer turnout due to the end of season points, it could have been a fizzle. But the racing was fast and hot, with bracket races for Super Pro, Pro, Bike, and Street classes, and of course, the highlight of the day, the Stock/Super Stock race.

And it'll all happen again next November, with another $2000 to win S/SS race.
