Mark Barnes Sr. (Coatesville, Pa.) drove his ‘72 Chevy C-10 pickup to victory in Trophy, beating Mike Epprecht (Harleysville, Pa.) with a run of 7.998 at 81.44.

Barnes had a sign of things to come in the semis when he scored a perfect reaction time even though he was running a single. He advanced from the quarters by defeating Courtney Bartman (Douglassville, Pa.) with a pass of 8.004. Epprecht made the final by beating Justin Levan (Birdsboro, Pa.), who broke out in the semis. Epprecht had the bye run in the quarters.

Zach Rothenberger (Glenmoore, Pa.) returned to Victory Lane in Junior Dragsters, taking advantage in the final when Joe Dedrick (Bally, Pa.) fouled. Rothenberger ran his Halfscale to a final pass of 7.946 at 83.17.

In the quarters, Rothenberger beat Jed Knarr (Pottstown, Pa.), who broke down at the start. He then used a quick .017 reaction time in the semis to beat Joe Lamond (Saylorsburg, Pa.). Dedrick also used a quick .008 RT in the semis to beat Mark Stalnecker (Bechtelsville, Pa.). In the quarters, Dedrick had a 7.988 run (7.97 D/I) to defeat Kelli Witkowski (Elverson, Pa.)

For the first time this season, Hudson Performance presented its Dash For Cash Program. This program will be run during the first race of each of the three Money Trail sessions. Winning this time around were Paul Thimm Jr. (Mohnton, Pa.) in Super, Mowery (Pro) and Brittany Heffelfinger (Wernersville, Pa.) in Street. Thimm and Mowery each received $250, while Heffelfinger won $150.

The other Dash for Cash races are scheduled for June 27 and Aug. 14.

Before the beginning of eliminations, a moment of silence and then a memorial pass were held for three Maple Grove regulars who died in the offseason: Bruce Miskar, Rob Terreson and Randy Schoenly.
