Ron and Steve Boggs were part of the elite group of Alcohol racers that came out of the state of Ohio in the early 1970s and ’80s that dominated blown alcohol racing. They were peers of the likes of Ken Veney, Bob Gottschalk, Don Gerardo and a few others. They always had bad fast, immaculate altereds and floppers. Ron was a consummate and fearless driver and brother Steve was and remains a premier tuner of alky and nitro motors. They first came on the scene around 1971 with a supercharged, big block Chevy-powered Fiat AA/A and went from there to a series of roadsters and floppers ending with the last car that Ron drove which was a injected nitro Bantam with a long wheelbase. Best burnout ever at the U.S. Nationals.

After Ron died in late June of this year, DRO contributing photographer and FOB (friend of Burk) sent us a group of photos chronicling the Boggs Brothers’ career and cars. We offer them as a tribute to Ron Boggs, one hell of a driver!
