NOSTALGIA PRO STREET VS EFI RENEGADE

Nostalgia Pro Street drew a twenty-car field, with Dave Beeson topping the bunch for the second race in a row. Unfortunately he broke, and it was Kevin Parent and Jim Jarrett who rose to the top. The finals between these two resulted in a close match, but in the end, Parent prevailed with a 7.41 to 7.56 race.

The EFI Renegade class came down to the man who could survive the longest. After qualifying number one, Bob Cook rode his momentum to the final round to face off against first-time finalist Chad Allmandinger. Cook then ran it out the back door with a consistent 8.59 at over 161 MPH to take the win in the final round. Cook was then overtaken at the stripe by Kevin Parent in their championship matchup.

XTREME STREET VS DRAG RADIAL

Bill Travato

In Xtreme Street, Bill Trovato ran an 8.00 at 171 mph to qualify number one, followed by Jamie Stanton who ran 8.06 to get the second spot. Those two also ended up in the finals once again this year, but Stanton redlit, giving the win to Trovato.

It took all season, but someone finally dethroned Jason Lee. During Drag Radial qualifying, Sean Lyon turned in an 8.04 in the heat to sit atop the ladder. Once eliminations started, Lyon ran his machine all the way to the finals against ’09 Champion Lee. A side-by-side battle and 8.00 elapsed time put the win light on in Lyon’s favor with a .006 margin-of-victory as he took his first NMRA win of the season. Bill Trovato then took a holeshot victory from him in the Bowl.
