This gorgeous red and blue GM-Holden Torana wasn't just built for show, but also for go as driver Peter Papas ran on a solid 7.70 dial-in. A combination of his opponent's red lighting and having tardy lights ensured an easy victory in the end and that $5000 pot of.

Sometimes looking at the race results on Drag Racing Online can be daunting for us Aussies on the other side of the pond, especially when you see how many different versions of going fast our American cousins get up to. You’ve got blown pro mods, nitrous pro mods, outlaw pro mods, NHRA pro stockers, IHRA pro stockers, Extreme pro stockers, Extreme 10.5 tire, Super-comp & Top Sportsman to name a lot – there are so many ways that sedan bodied cars can go fast. So far there aren’t  nearly as many options down under.

If you want to go quick in a tin top (as we call them) sedan, then under ANDRA (the Australian National Drag Racing Assocation) rules you only have a few options – for heads up it’s Top Doorslammer and Pro Stock. On a sportsman level then there are a few of the Comp classes and Super Stock, but what happens if you just want to put together a good reliable engine combo that isn’t going to go near an index but will still run fast?

If you have a blown engine setup then you can quite easily fit into the Supercharged Outlaws bracket, however if you have a big block naturally aspirated engine combo then it comes down to one choice - the fastest DYO sedan bracket – Super Sedan. Basically Super Sedan is a dial your own bracket for cars quicker than 10.99 seconds.  The SS/AA record is currently held by the twin turboed 400 cube Ford powered Mustang combination of Rob Campisi at 6.984 seconds.
