The blue 351 powered Ford Mustang of Andrew Constantinou put together a 7.88 and three 7.7 runs on a 7.70 dial-in on his way to the final to face Peter Papas. There was only one problem and that was when he lit a cherry in that final race for the gold meaning he only took home the $1000 second prize.

Top qualifier Johnny Wilson, in his 632 cube big block Chev powered GM-Holden Torana made it all the way to the semi-finals running 7.5s and 7.6s on his 7.48 dial-in. In his duel with eventual winner, Peter Papas he slowed to a 7.74 and that allowed Papas’ 0.09 over 7.79 into the money round.
