The Midwest Mafia cars were racing only against each other. The quickest and fastest car in the group was Hollis Jones in a supercharged ’66 Nova with a 7.324/184.04. The Saturday Quick 16 race had both door cars and dragsters but the final round came down to the dragsters of second-generation driver Charlie Hamma against Kelly McClung. McClung put .004 in the bank on the start and held off Hamma for the win. Pat McGlynn won the Saturday “Box” title in his Undercover dragster defeating Russell Lafoon II in a ’89 Camaro. Both men had identical reaction timed but McGlynn ran closest to his dial with a 7.884/166.81. Lafoon was hard on the brakes in a losing effort as he recorded a 10.999 at just 39.25 mph. Carl Clothier took home the “No Box” cash driving his unique four-door Chevy Corsica to the win over Michael Boppo’s ’90 Pancho. Boppo cut a .003 light to Clothier’s .055 but his 10.203/133 pass didn’t get him the win and Clothier cruised the Corsica to the win with a 10.707 at just 110.88!

[Ed Note. Our apologies to the bracket racing readers. We didn’t get the dial-in with the info the track sent, just winning numbers.]
