PRO EXTREME

That said, PX points leader Joshua Hernandez whose team was recently bought by Baharain drag racing enthuist, followed closely by Alex Hossler, Texas-based privateer Frankie Taylor and Sheikh Khalid (KH) Al-Thani are all safe bets for post-season play, and Gaylen Smith in fifth place is also unlikely to be ousted from the Belts field. All teams could see their positions significantly shuffled in the coming weeks. But with only 151 points separating the sixth place team for the current ninth-place holder (Wes Johnston) , two-time class champ Jason Scruggs in sixth, along with seventh-place Quain Stott (shown) and defending World Champion Todd Tutterow in eighth, cannot afford any serious miscues at Rockingham or Norwalk.

Also capable of late-season heroics might be John Stanley in 10th place and 2006 class champion Bubba Stanton in 11th, and it’s not impossible that 2009 ADRL Rookie of the Year and defending Dragstock winner Jason Hamstra, making his PX return in the previously Pro Nitrous ’70 Duster campaigned by Thomas Myers, could make up the 645-point gap to Tutterow he suffered by missing several races after crashing at Topeka earlier this summer.
