In Outlaw 10.5, Gary Soulages’ beautiful twin-turbo-powered 282 c.i. F150 was the #1 qualifier with a 6.78 at 212.63 on 10.5-inch tires. Soulages lined up against local favorite Mike Sasina in his Mustang , then had a self admitted “senior moment” and let the Mustang have a .411. Sasina cut a .010 light and ran 7.091 while Soulages’ 6.807 left him five feet short in the lights. Gary Ross out ran Arnie Fisher while Ron Weems drew a single when Scott Slotten had problems in the pits and could not make the call.

In the semi finals Ron Weems from Riverside, Calif., ran his best of the weekend (6.813) outdistancing Gary Ross. Sasina ran 7.065 to set up the final.
