There were twenty or so entries in the wheelstander competition for a significant five-figure purse that paid the winners of the highest, longest, most violent among other classes.

The winner of the big bucks for the longest wheelstand went to Ford racer J.D. Drissel who put his ’86 Mustang on the bumper and kept it there for about 330 feet.

The highest wheelie award went to Illinois racer A.J. Fiorelli in his black ’68 Plymouth Barracuda. The were individual brand awards for best wheelie and Paul VanderVelde of Lockport, Ill., who won that contest driving his  ’92 Mustang.
