World Sport Compact Challenge at Orlando

Just when drag racing is getting to be a drag for me because I am bored with watching the same cars, drivers, and winners over and over in professional racing, I get rescued by an event like the World Sport Compact Challenge at Speed World Dragway in Orlando, Fla.,  and I’m reminded of why I love drag racing.

Juarbe shows the way

Super Star Puerto Rican Sport Compact racer Jorge Juarbe had a career weekend at Carl Weisinger’s inaugeral race for Sport Compact Cars only. Juarge and his crew “ran the table” by not only driving his turbocharged six-cylinder Toyota SR-5 into the Orlando Speed World Dragway winners circle by winning the Quick 16 Eliminator, but while doing so he also recorded the first Sport Compact sub-seven-second pass in the track’s history as well  and the first 200mph+ pass  and in the end established the track ET and speed record for Sport Compact cars at 6.891/203.19. That is what you call domination!
