PRO EXTREME MOTORCYCLE

Ashley Owens

There were 15 Pro Extreme Motorcycles entered at PBIR and Ashley Owens and his new Fast by Gast bike continued to be the absolute dominant force. At this second race of the season Owens ran the quickest ET in ADRL bike history during Friday qualifying with a 4.012.

His 4.030 on Saturday backed the 4.012 qualifying effort for the record.

Kim Morrell

Carlos Wilkerson, who knocked off hometown favorite Kim Morrell in the semifinals, got the dubious honor of meeting Owens in the finals. In the finals Owens made sure not to red light and then ripped off a 4.04 that easily covered Wilkerson’s 4.25.

"We tried to push it a little in the final, but we didn't want to do anything crazy," Owens said. "We wanted to run well, but we didn't want to hurt the engine. We're just glad we got the win."
