Demke has his hands full with the up and coming team of George Brazil and Kenny Buzdas but horsepower wins again at 5.328 and 272.14 mph to  a close effort by Buzdas at 5.588/224.04 a career best for that team.

In the final Megan could not get the Darien and Meadows entry lit so it was an easy one for Demke at 5.660/192.26.

Top Alcohol Funny Car at least had a full eight-car show with a couple of spares.

What a great show he put on for the Lombardo family, first qualifying #1 at a strong 5.618 at 258.62 mph. Bob DeVour his chew chief really had the NAPA Auto Part, Legends Battery Monte Carlo right on this weekend as first Lombardo had to deal with former Div. 7 Champ Doug Gordon and put him away soundly with an awesome 5.609/257.43 over Gordon’s game 5.852/254.98. Then Lombardo defeated a very up and coming Shane Westerfield in the Carrillo TAFC. Westerfield left slightly on Lombardo (.057 RT to a .092 RT) but it was not quite enough to gain his first final round venture as the Lombardo team turned in a fine 5.622, 258.62 mph over Shane's close 5.751, 244.03 mph.

Roger Bateman in the new Y-Not entry of Whitely and Bateman had to earn his way into that final round against a very good driver, Sean Bellemeur. Bateman got a slightly better light, though, and Bellemeur shook the tires badly so it was all Bateman and Y-Not into the final round of Funny Car at a 5.662, 254.30 mph over Bellemeur’s losing effort of 5.876, 248.13 mph.
