“I knew the only way I was going to beat Adler was to leave on him and run my best ET. I got the first part done but I guess the tune-up was just too aggressive and I shook the tires,” said Chitty after the race.

On the other side of the ladder it was Rogers versus the Coffmans. Rogers left just a couple of thousandths ahead of Coffman but both cars went into shake and were all over the track. Rogers, in the left lane, was able to recover first and just avoid hitting the guardrail on the left side of the track. His 4.268/172.68 easily got him to the finish line before Coffman’s 4.374/135.50 but Rogers lost critical lane choice to Adler.

The final round came after the sun had set and the atmospheric conditions were the best they had been for two days. The final was relatively anti-climatic. Adler had lane choice chose the right lane. The race was basically over when the green flashed. Adler had a .43 RT to Roger’s .58 RT and then Rogers overpowered the lane and watched Adler streak down track to become the first winner of the Chris Duncan Race Cars Midwest Pro Mod Super Series.

The next race in the series will be June 10-11 at Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, Ill.
