Mike Castellana

Just when it appeared that the racers with turbocharged powerplants were on course to dominate the Get Screened America Pro Mods, the series rolled into Norwalk, Ohio, and the turbocharged racers found themselves once again playing catch up to those using Roots-type superchargers and alcohol or nitrous oxide-injection and gasoline.

In the final round at the rain-shortened Norwalk event nitrous racer Mike Castellana got his second win of the 2011 season by beating supercharger racer Danny Rowe easily with an ET almost a tenth quicker than Rowe’s.

Danny Rowe

Danny Rowe drove his supercharged ’68 Camaro to the number one qualifying spot at Norwalk with a 5.863/246 effort. Right behind him on the ladder were the nitrous oxide-injection twosome of former NHRA Pro Stock racer Rickie Jones and Mike Castellana. Both Jones and Castellana have a mega-big Reher-Morrison mountain motors with at least four stages of nitrous and the guidance and tuning of Speedtech’s Brandon Switzer and driver/tuner Shannon Jenkins. The two nitrous racers were just .005 and .008 of a second respectively behind Rowe’s pole winning ET.
