The NHRA pro racers are just beginning their grueling Western Swing, three
races in three weeks that will likely separate the real contenders for the NHRA championship from the rest of the field.

The racers in the Midwest that compete in the DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC
Challenge presented by Mickey Thompson Tires and Comp Cams; the Victory Performance Parts Nostalgia Super Stock Series presented by Mickey Thompson
Tires; and the Duncan Race Cars Midwest Pro Mod Super Series just completed their own version of the Western Swing when they had races at KCIR in Missouri and CFR in Iowa on consecutive weekends -- all during one of the worst heatwaves the Midwest has suffered through in 50 years.

Remember, there are no actual professional racers participating in these classes so for them to race two weeks in a row is a financial burden on the team owners and a hardship for the mostly volunteer crews that work on those teams.
