Daniel Bott and his ’98 Mustang defeated Anthony Valentino in the Centerforce Hot Street in an 8.39 to 8.45 final round.

Hot Street was light, with only five drivers making the trek out to the event. At the top of that list was Dan Bott II, with an 8.39 at over 161 miles per hour for the top spot. The ladder was cut to only two rounds when James Lawrence had mechanical issues and formally withdrew from competition. Bott received a competition single when Randy Jones didn’t make the call to lanes. On the other side of the ladder, Anthony Valentino faced Victor Brum. Valentino led from light to stripe, carding an 8.44 to advance to the final and face Bott. As the pair of Mustangs rolled into the beams, Bott pulled a slight advantage on the tree and inched ahead down track, crossing the stripe .066 second ahead of Valentino for the win.

Armen Maghdessian’s ’57 puffs fire on the starting line as Ryan Jones heads for the finish in the final of Mickey Thompson Wild Street.

Wild Street was extremely light with only three cars on the ladder. Armen Maghdessian lead the qualifying with an 8.26 at over 170 miles per hour. By virtue of the odd-numbered field, Maghdessian got the first-round single, straight into the final. Battling to get the final on the other side of the ladder was Ryan Jones and Mike Orban. Jones cut the tree down on Orban, .034 to .135 and flew to a 7.94 at over 173 mph to take the win and advance to the final round. The final was dramatic as Mahgdessian pulled into the box but was hurt and had a nitrous backfire on the line, allowing Jones to streak unopposed to another 7.94 and the Wild Street win.
