Todd Tutterow (shown) broke a trans in his loss to Buzz Varner, slowing to a 4.16 at only 153 mph.

Second round saw Howard go 4.06 to Varner’s 6.16 and Giangrande went a 7.48 in his bye run to the final round.

In the final, Howard was consistently fast as he went a 4.02 at over 187 mph to Giangrande’s 4.09. Note that in his three wins this year, the Jerry Williams’ Mustang has been between 3.96 (the first Big Dog in the 3’s) to a slow of only 4.08. How’s that for a consistent driver, car and crew!

Other winners for the month were #3 qualifier Jamie Chappell over #1 qualifier Brian Schrader in Renegade. This field had 16 cars with notables John Lassier, Sandy Wilkins, and Jay Cox not in the qualified field.

The 5-Second Outlaw Doorslammer had TG Paschal a winner at 5.78 seconds over Rick Whaley.

Coming in October, the final race for Big Dog will be on the first Thursday of the month, Oct. 6, with a very special show the following Saturday.
