Of note was the improved performance of Dennis LaCharite’s “Back in Black” GTO, tuned by Jon Wurtz. LaCharite’s 5.996 landed him in the fifth slot, and sixth was occupied by the Roland Leong-tuned ‘77 Firebird of Tim Boychuk at 6.015 ET.

Former ADRL World Champion Billy Harper and his partner and former WCPM Champion and National Event winner Dennis Radford lead the nitrous contingent, while the blower racers were led by Rod Burbage and 2010 Nightfire winner Brett Williamson.

Williamson was on the outside looking in for the final session, but, on his final qualifying attempt of the day, he went from outhouse to penthouse when he unleashed the first ever 5 second Pro Mod run in Firebird history.

The Pro Mods delivered the quickest bump ever for the event with 6.29 seconds set by Jay Diedrich.

PSCA hitter Randy Walker on a solid lap. Unfortunately, he was sidelined by a massive nitrous explosion that put his car out for the weekend.
