Robbie Blankenship of Hudson, Fla., ruled the Pro Stock field in qualifying by running an 8.53 at a whopping 156 mph. Don Baskin was the second on the pole with his 8.55 at 150 mph, and Mike DeMayo was third with 8.57 at 154 mph. Eliminations for the event champ, Blankenship, started with a race with John Langer. Blankenship was able to get the holeshot on Langer, .107 to .159, and simply outran Langer, getting the round one victory. The semi-finals saw Blankenship against Demayo. Although Demayo tree'd his rival, the Roush-powered Mustang was just too speedy and managed to get around Demayo on the top end, 8.56 to 8.64. 

Mean Street was another three-car field, with Don Baskin getting the number one spot with a 9.96 at 132. Gary Duncan was second on the Q ladder with 10.18 at 128 mph, and third was Benny Smith who ran 10.21 at 130 mph. Baskin of Covington, Tenn., got the event win by first getting a bye into the final, then he took out his teammate Smith in a 10.08 to 10.32 heads-up match.

Kevin Gass of Ledbetter, Ky., was winner of Nostalgia Super Stock in his 1966 Biscayne.

In other action, Open Comp saw Mike Rickman take out John Mackey in the final. In Late Model EFI Al Corda won over Alan Kasper, and in Nostalgia Super Stock, Kevin Gass won over DW Hopkins. Nostalgia Muscle Car was owned by defending class champion Andy Warren, who took out Larry Fleming and lastly, True Street's overall winner in Bowling Green was Greg Mayton who had a 9.12 three-run average.
