HRH Champs Crowned, Bates Takes Fifth

Kin Bates, Cecil Molina Jr. and Brian Rogers all doubled up this past weekend (Oct. 5-7) taking home the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Championship along with Nostalgia Fall Heritage Championship event wins at Auto Club Famoso Raceway.

Bates covered the A/Fuel field for his third win of the year in five final rounds locking up his 5th championship going into the event. The Anderson, Calif., racer beat Darrell Waters in the final to go along with his wins at Speedworld and Las Vegas. Les Davenport secured the number 2 spot with a pair of wins.
