Reigning Australian Pro Stock Bike Champion, Lachie Ireland didn’t have an easy weekend as was reflected in his seventh qualifying spot thanks to a best of 7.874. “We had a problem with the bike as I kept getting uneven power across the weekend”, he admitted after the event. Still he also had some start-line prowess and some luck as he hole-shotted opponent, Maurice Allen with a first round winning - 7.511 to a 7.498 and then merely staged the bike in the semis when Kawaski rider, Peter Cochrane couldn’t make the call. It all came to an end unfortunately in the final when he was three and a half hundredths late off the line and then lost to Luke Crowley - 7.331 to 7.486.

Former Australian Pro Stock Motorcycle Champ, Maurice Allen had a mixed weekend. He debuted a new bike, one that had the engine moved forward four inches and was quite different to his old ride. “Riding my old bike was like second nature to me”, he revealed while readying his mount for Sunday eliminations. “On my second pass I tried to leave the line with the bike not in gear, I simply put it in gear and with the light still green I took off”, he added A similar problem happened in his first round race with Lachie Ireland and he left the line late and a quicker 7.498 was taken out by his opponent’s slower 7.511.
