The timing tower was reminiscent of Bonneville or the early drag strips of the NHRA Safety Safari.

Soon Stultz and his team were busy building racing pylons, creating vintage signs and getting the word out about the Race of Gentlemen over the Internet and in the various hot rod and vintage bike communities. In a little over a month and a half the race was ready to be run, along with a killer car show and live music.

On Friday, October 19, there was a pre-race party at the Allenhurst Beach Club featuring the music of Hoboken’s own, “The Swinging Neck Breakers,” and a bonfire. Saturday morning dawned sunny and beautiful at the Jersey Shore, and the race was ready to run.
