Here is what you need to know about the Digital Delay Mega-Series wiring products.

This is the "heart" of what makes the rewiring easier and a heck of a lot more reliable, the Digital Delay Elite Relay board. Relays for every circuit, indicator lights if you blow a fuse, terminal strip and labeling for every accessory. One main battery cable connection and one primary ground cable connection. The Elite switch panel has top quality switches, easy to push starter button and the control panel for the Dial-Board. Dial Boards are available in several colors. Our choice was red.

Digital Delay makes several pre-wired components as well as complete "kits" than include everything you need to do a top-notch professional rewiring job. Because we already had the Digital Delay electronic "Dial-Board" we decided to go with the Elite Mega-Dial Panel kit. It comes with the following major components that will not only save you hours of time rewiring your car, it will also offer quality you cannot match doing this yourself (unless you are an electrical engineer... and if you are, why are you reading my tech article on wiring a race car?).

You get the driver's Elite Switch Panel that has the controller for the Dial Board built into it, you get the Elite Relay Board (this is the trickiest piece of all!), wire, wire ends, and an easy to use and read "map" to help you. The wires are top quality and the names of the circuits they are for are printed on the wire. Now how can you mess that up? You pretty much can't, that is the nice part.

This article will get us through taking the old wiring out, figuring out where and what we need to do before laying in new wire and what we want to end up with. I am looking forward to getting this done and next month you will see the finished product. Until then....use the most basic wiring rule there is: "Keep the smoke inside the wires" and you will learn that patience in rewiring a car is a virtue!!

The Execution

This is the ignition panel, fuse block panel and, in general, where all the switches get their electrical power.
