Lachie Ireland qualified fourth with a 7.631/166.35 on his Johnny’s Hog sponsored Suzuki in the seven bike field. During eliminations he took a first round win over the similar sickle of Mark Hancock in a 7.575/165.03 to 7.779/165.03 after taking a hundreth off the line. In the semi-finals Ireland took on top qualifier, Ross Lemburg and again took the lead off the line however Lemburg proved to be unstoppable as he sailed on by in a 7.262 to 7.520 lose. It has been quite some time that one Pro Stock Bike racer had such a dominant weekend but North Queensland Suzuki rider, Ross Lemburg was the only rider to dip into the 7.20s both in qualifying and eliminations. It all started with a top qualifying 7.275/178.14 that was over a tenth ahead of second placed Maurice Allen.  It certainly was Lemburg’s weekend as his 7.259, 7.262 and low ET of the event – a bracket winning 7.241 could be attributed to his Vance and Hines tweaked 1655 Suzuki  engine
