In the second round Howard started working on the tree with a .001 shot to defeat Hoover’s .054 with both drivers ran 3.92. Tutterow ran another 3.86 to defeat Rini’s 3.97.

This set up the final, Todd and Todd show, just like old times. Forget the new rules and all the talk that has led up to this run. Howard chopped down the tree with another incredible .007 light and ran 3.902 to defeat Tutterow’s 3.988 with a .035 light and a slight burp at mid track.

John Lassiter marched through the field of Renegade cars with a 4.17, 4.27, and a 4.19 to defeat Darrell Williams in the final. Along the way, Lassiter defeated Larry Peace in round one and Earl Farmer in round 2.

In the remaining action, Deep Creek Motors 7.49 Rico’s Real Street Winner was Randall Cantrall. O’Reilly Auto Parts Outlaw Doorslammers winner was Jeff Bowman and the 6.00 Bracket winner was Jason Doss.
