Four hundred sixty-seven entries crowded South Georgia Motorsports Park for one of the biggest motorcycle drag racing events ever on April 13-15.  Ten bikes attempted to qualify for the PR Factory Store Top Fuel class.  Perennial favorite Larry “Spiderman” McBride (ABOVE) dominated qualifying and eliminations, running in the fives on every pass with his Suzuki.  In the final, McBride defeated number-two qualifier Tommy Grimes on his Nitro Harley.  McBride ran 5.927 at 240.51 to defeat Grimes’ 6.200 at 231.36 (best elapsed time for a Nitro Harley).  Spiderman had low elapsed time and top speed at 5.849, and 241.11 mph.

Mark Paquette qualified number one in Star Racing Pro Comp with a best of 4.096 at 185.56 mph.  These times held up for the best of the event.  The 16-bike field narrowed down to the turbo entry of Keith Lynn (BELOW) and the nitrous entry of Japel Heard.  Lynn’s 4.124 narrowly defeated Heard’s close 4.146.
