Defending Victory Performance Nostalgia Super Stock champ Dan Beale and his deadly consistent Pontiac returned to form on the eighth-mile track at Eddyville, Iowa, on May 25-27 with an impressive win over number-two qualifier Dennis Diepenbrock driving his flaming red ‘64 Plymouth Wagon. The win was especially impressive since at the opening series race of the season the Champ went out in the first round of competition.

Twenty-three Nostalgia Super Stock racers came to Eddyville for the second race of the series. Qualifying was led by Jeff Frees, who ran a 6.52 on his 6.50 index with his stout ‘64 Plymouth to get the $100 #1 Qualifier Bonus put up by Clay Kossuth and Sons Mopar Parts. Diepenbrock recorded a fine 7.035 on his 7.00 index for the second spot.
