The second qualifying session saw most teams improve from the first go. Gustafson made the biggest jump improving to a 5.67 at 124.58 that unfortunately still kept him short of making the field. E.J. Hickle put his 1941 Willys in the thick of things, as expected, with a burst panel-popping 4.29/145.49 that slotted him number two. Chris Domino again showed bracket car consistency carding a 4.31 at 172.88 to hold down the third spot. The surprise of the second session was the off-pace 4.91/104.19 by Clark. Fortunately his 4.10 from the first session was more than enough to lock down the pole.
